Frequently asked questions

How many people fit in the sauna?

Our sauna can fit 4-6 people comfortably.

Is this a wet or dry sauna?

All saunas are technically “wet” saunas. When water is added to the hot rocks, it creates steam. The sauna user can control how “dry” or “wet” the inside of the sauna is depending on what they prefer.

Can I pour water on the rocks?

Yes! We encourage you to pour water on the hot rocks if you prefer more of a “wet” sauna! Please make sure to ask everyone in your group if they would like more steam before pouring water on the hot rocks.

How hot does the sauna get?

The sauna can get above to 220 degrees fahrenheit.

How long does it take for the sauna to heat up?

It can take 30-60 minutes depending on the outside temperature. The colder the temperature outside, the longer it will take to heat.

What do I bring?

We recommend you bring bathing suits, athletic wear, sandals or shoes that are easy to slip on and off, water and a towel for drying off.

How should I prepare for our sauna day?

We recommend you have plenty of water and stay hydrated before enjoying the sauna. We also ask that you shower off and remove any lotions, perfume, cologne and makeup before entering the sauna.

Will you show us how to use the sauna?

Yes! We will give you a brief orientation on how to use the sauna/iki stove and you will also receive written directions.

How long should I stay in the sauna & cold plunge?

Most people stay in a sauna 10-20 minutes and cold plunge 1-10minutes. These times are not mandatory and you are encouraged to stay in as long as you feel comfortable! Always make sure to listen to your body and if you start to feel ill/impaired exit the sauna or cold plunge immediately.

Do I need to provide water & power?

Just a water source! In order to fill the cold plunge, you will need access to a water spigot. We will provide a 100ft hose and ice to fill the cold plunge. The sauna is completely off-grid, so no electricity is required for the sauna! It is fueled by the sun (solar panels) and wood.

Where will the cold plunge water be dumped out at after using it ?

If renting a cold plunge, we must be able to dispose of water at or close to the drop-off/pick-up location.

Who should not use the sauna?

Children under 18 years old must be accompanied by an adult. If you have a pre-existing, known medical condition or are pregnant, please consult with your doctor prior to booking a sauna experience.

Where do you deliver?

We deliver anywhere in the city limits of Joshua Tree, 29 Palms and Yucca Valley. If you are located elsewhere, please still contact us to see if we are able to deliver for an additional fee.

Is there a minimum booking period?

We require an overnight appointment when booking on the weekends (Friday, Saturday & Sunday). Drop-off & Pick-up times are flexible.

What are your payment options?

We require a 50% deposit in order to schedule your sauna delivery date. The remaining 50% is due 3 days prior to your scheduled delivery date. Payments can be made via Zelle or on our website. If booking within 3 days of your delivery date, you must pay in full.

What is your cancellation policy?

If a cancellation is made 7 days prior to the delivery date, you will receive a full refund of the deposit. Cancellations made 3 days prior to the delivery date will not be refunded the deposit amount. Cancellations made less than 3 days (after paying in full) to your delivery date will not be refunded at all.  *Less credit card processing fees for all refunds*

If WE NEED to cancel your reservation due to reasons like strong winds or winter storm, and we can't find a new date that works for you, we'll give you a full refund.

Where do you park the sauna?

The trailer can be parked anywhere you can reasonably park a trailer on a solid level ground and decent roads along the route. We ask that there be enough room for an average size SUV and trailer to navigate. The entrance to the location must have an opening of at least 10 ft wide and the area clear of any overhanging trees or obstacles with a minimum clearance of 12 ft. The footprint of trailer is 15’ x 8’ .

Can I move the sauna after it is already dropped off?

The sauna is not to be moved by renters under any circumstance!! If renters would like to have the sauna moved, please contact one of the workers to see if it can be moved. Moving the trailer will be dependent on the location. If renters move the trailer, they will be held liable for any damages to the sauna trailer, property, and any harm to any individuals.

What if I run out of wood provided for the sauna?

If you happen to run out of provided fire wood for the sauna, softwoods are great for starting your fire and hardwoods are better for keeping it burning hot. Most grocery stores and gas stations sell these types of wood. We ask that you NEVER use wood containing tree sap, painted or stained wood or fresh cut/gathered wood from the property.

Who should I contact if an issue occurs while using the sauna?

If a medical or fire emergency occurs, contact 911 immediately! For issues regarding the sauna, please contact us via call or text at 916-475-9746.
